Let me be upfront and honest… if you’ve come to this page searching for a scrumptious pasta primavera dish because all the vibrant and tasty spring vegetables are about to hit the grocery stores and you're wanting to incorporate more veggies into your diet, you’ve come to the wrong page. No food here. But who knows, maybe it’s not what you were looking for, but could end up being just what you need. A good laugh, some things to think about, the reassurance that you aren’t the only person thinking this or that, or just a break away from stressing about what to make for dinner. Or hey, you might be heading for the “X” to close this page. And if that’s the case, I hope your recipe hunting goes well and you have a great day!
For those of you still here, you might be thinking, why would this girl call her blog Pasta Primavera and not write about cooking? It makes no sense, right? Well, it also made no sense that when I was young, people would ask me if I was named after a pasta dish. What parent would name their kid after a popular food item at The Olive Garden? No offense OG… love your breadsticks! Let me back it up a bit and explain. My name is Erica Primavera… go ahead… I know you’re thinking it … “like the pasta?” … no, not like the pasta. My birthday is on the first day of Spring. Spring in Spanish is Primavera and my parents got creative and made my middle name Primavera.
As a kid, telling that story was a mouthful and no six-year-old had the attention span to stick around to hear why I had such a “weird” middle name. But now that I think about it, most adults don’t really have the attention span either, so I hope you aren’t still punching around on this page trying to find the recipe section… it ain’t there. Anyway, so up until my senior year of high school, to avoid the pasta correlation, I just said my middle name was Spring. Which actually just made my parents probably sound more like hippies than anything, but to me, it sounded cool and dodged having to attempt to explain Primavera to a bunch of judgmental adolescents. So maybe this page is my declaration to the world, that I am ERICA PRIMAVERA… and YES, like this pasta!... okay, it’s not what this page is about, but I just wanted to explain the blog name and hopefully give you a taste of the relatable topics you may see written here… in this case, something you were made fun of as a kid. Little shits! It’s Spring in Spanish!
This page is really just random thoughts about things I think about, question, find entertaining, think you might be interested in, and just something to fill the time… if we’re being totally honest. Now, this is what I have in mind for the page right now, a theory if you will… but for all I know, it could turn into a cooking blog…probably not… but stranger things have happened. But for now, it’s just me noodling around, throwing spaghetti on the wall, and seeing if it sticks to you. Happy reading… oh, and good olive oil. That’s the trick to a good pasta primavera.
